Collingwood Monument
We decided to film at this location as we thought it was an ideal setting to film the scene of the new boyfriend walking up the stairs with his girlfriend. The use of the stairs enabled the old boyfriend who was homeless to be shown lying on the stairs and to show the ex girlfriend walking passed the gambler but not recognising him, however he can still remember her as he still has the ring which belongs to her.
The lower Promenade towards the fish Quay
We choose this location as the scene included both lighthouses in the background which looked good compared to just a plain boring background. The use of the path along the sea front signals to the audience a nice romantic scene where people would normally walk, however the complete opposite happens as they start to argue.
The lower Promenade on King Edwards Bay
We decided to film here as there was an excellent scenic shot of the Priory and Castle in the background, this allowed the scene to be interesting, as it wasn’t plain compared to most shots and allowed us to have a dramatic effect whilst showing the break up scene.
Michaels House
We used Michael’s house to show the anger of the girlfriend as she storms off back to their house without him. He then arrives later seeing all his clothes thrown outside across the driveway, this shows that his girlfriend has had enough and wants to split up.
Drama Studio
We used the location of the drama studio to film the underground feel of a poker scene. We also filmed the roulette wheel, poker chips, dice and cards in the dark surroundings to give it a realistic look of an underground gambling scene.
