Advert Analysis - Arctic Monkeys

On this advertising poster it has the content that is required for an advert. The title of the album is placed along the top and the release date is placed just below this. This allows the viewer to find out the information immediately. The main image for this poster is of the first album cover which is instantly recognisable for those who have seen the CD before. The logo of the band is also placed on the poster which could also be recognisable from other EP’s they have produced before this album was released. The colour scheme of the poster is black and white. It isn’t the most eye-catching poster in the world but it suits the artwork well and looks quite impressive.

The positioning of the man is in the middle of the page with a cigarette as a prop this gives the impression to the target audience that the band are not a gentle band. The facial expressions of the man look very serious and he looks like he is glaring towards the target audience to attract attension to them. The use of the slogan at the top compares to how the man is acting.

I feel that there could be more information put onto the advert but this may have made it less attractive and you may not have had time to read the necessary information if you were walking past the poster.
